The Original & Very Cherry Ghirardelli Chocolate
My Date offered to take a picture with me in it but I was too nervous for that so this is what we got
Three down, thirty to go. I knocked out three flavors in one week! My grandma, who is dead, would be proud.
For some reason, I feel really distracted right now and it's difficult to sit here and write. Who wants to read about how hard it is to write something? Anyone? I think the reason it feels hard to write about this experience is because I was on a date I was excited about and it was kind of a blur. I'm worried I won't be able to recall all the details. And that's what is most entertaining: the cold hard facts.
We met at a different The Factory, the one at the Americana. I arrived frazzled because of traffic. I was late which I hate and felt bad about but she was really cool about it. She was really cool in general. I definitely have a crush on her now and I can tell I have a crush because I barely cared about the cheesecake. Fortunately, she sent the leftovers home with me so I could try them alone, in my underwear, on the couch, watching Real Housewives of New Jersey.
There's not much to say when the slices are delicious. They're both good! The Original has a layer of sour cream on top and tasted close to how I described my ideal cheesecake. So easy to eat. I mean, it's the original Factory cheesecake. This is the one that started it all. I imagine Mr (or Mrs because women can be business too) Factory on the side of the road hawking his original cheesecake and thinking 'dang maybe I could be somebody with this stuff' and then getting a business loan or something and then coming up with 32 additional flavors and a 20 page menu and the rest being history.
The Very Cherry Ghirardelli Chocolate slice was a surprise to me. I like the cherry and chocolate combo, as did My Date. She and I collaborated on which slices to order because we work really well together. She also doesn't care about whipped cream. Something we have in common. Anyway, this was delicious too! I'm thinking now that in addition to rating each cheesecake, I might also try to rank them. Could be interesting. This one had a layer of fudge cake and little chocolate chunkies and that sweet artificial cherry flavor which you gotta love. I loved it! I took all of it home and finished every last drop. My Date was very supportive of my project and thought it was a cool idea for a first date so yeah, you could say we're perfect for each other.
